REACHING THE NATIONS..

I am John Philip, from Kerala, south India. I was born and brought up in a Christian family. My father is a pastor and mother is helping him in the ministry. My parents were in north India for few years in ministry as missionaries. Now they are ministering in south India.

While I was six years old, I was afflicted with boils on my both the legs from hip to toe. I could not go to school regularly. I went to school only to appear my exams. I used many medicines, but there was no cure that I could find on my legs. There were ants on my bed whenever I got up in the mornings. One day, an evangelist came and prayed for me and asked me to pray that ‘Lord! I will serve you all through my life’. I was just seven years old at that time and I just followed what he asked me to pray. But I could see change on my legs from the very next day onwards. I was perfectly healed very soon and I could feel the freedom from the pain after one and half years. I came to an understanding through this experience that I must serve the Lord and must proclaim about the one who healed me.

As I was attending in a Sunday school, one day my teacher taught and explained about the salvation through Jesus Christ and so I accepted Him as my personal Savior and friend. It was a wonderful day in my life and it happened in the year of 1987. I took water baptism in the year of 1992. I completed my high school in 1994 and I joined in a college to do my pre-degree course and during that time, I met a ywam team who came to my church to attend the Sunday service. I was so much touched by the songs and the messages that they shared on that day and I decided in my heart that I will join in ywam one day to do the course and work for the Lord. After my pre-degree course, I went to do my theological studies on 1996 and completed my B.Th on March 2000. Soon after my graduation, I joined in Youth with a Mission to do Discipleship training school and completed in December 2000. I joined as a staff in the same training school after my training. I was there around three and half years and I could really see and praise God for the changes that God brought in my life during that time. I served there as praise and worship team leader and registrar. I also led outreach teams to different parts of India.

I got married on March 14th 2003 and my wife’s name is Susan. She was born and brought up in a strong Hindu family. She was studying in a Christian school and she came to know the love of God through her teachers and she accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and friend. She had so much opposition from with in the family for some time but later her brother and parents accepted the Lord Jesus Christ. She has completed her Master of Divinity and DTS in ywam. She is a very helpful person in my ministry. Right now, she is working as a teacher in a mission school. We have a daughter, Jessy Christina John and she is four and half years old now.

Then we went to Punjab (North India) to do ministry along with a mission and I was assisting the coordinator of that mission in the office works and visiting the villages and towns to preach the word Of God to strengthen the people in faith. My wife was teaching in a mission school and helping me in the ministry too. We were there for two years and we felt to go back to our own place and do ministry. So now we are back in our own home for the last 3 years, involving in the ministry with the local church and teaching the word of God in different bible colleges.

We as family, want to train young people for the great mission that Jesus has entrusted us. We also want to see all people from the main land and the islands, praising God and lifting His name. We have a big heart to work with ywam to see that the name of God lifted high in all over the nations.
